Heaters Help
If you do not know how much BTU you need to heat your space a simple formula can be followed:
1. Figure cubic square feet of space to be heated
Length x width x height Example: 50' long x 30' wide x 15' high= 22,500 cubic square foot of space
2. What is the average temperature outside?
This could be approx Example: outside temp is 15 degrees
3. What do you want the temperature to be in the building?
Example: 55 degrees
4. .The heat rise is (55 degrees inside - 15 degrees outside) = 40 degrees.
5. Multiply the cubic square foot by the heat rise.
22,500 x 40 degrees =900,000
6. Multiply by .133
.133 x 900,000 = 119,000 or approx 120,000 BTU./HR needed to heat the building
